If you’re a psychedelic trance fan, chances are you’ve already built up a large group of like-minded festival friends (shout-out to all of our amazing Trancentral buddies). While we aren’t as prolific as our fellow EDM rave friends, we’re every bit as dedicated. With a disportionate amount of festivals canceled this year, you’re probably wondering how to rave closer to home. Don’t worry, Trancentral Shop has you covered. Here are 5 ways to party at home:
1. Join this private goa & psytrance server, if you haven’t already…
It may seem obvious, but don’t rely exclusively on festivals to network and meet other psytrance fans. Cast a wider net.
While nothing quite compares to live music, online communities like Psytrance/Goa Discord are a great place to meet new people, discuss genres and share random thoughts. The group was co-founded by reddit user, rogueyoshi.com/coaching and has been going strong for three years. You’ll find tips on how to mix psytrance on #production.
Tip: Join the r/psytrance/ subreddit group for Goa and Psychedelic Trance culture discussion. It has lots of playlist ideas and YouTube videos like this Psychedelic Drums Tutorial, which you can preview above.
2. Make your own psychedelic art
From posters to t-shirts and tapestries, psychedelic art has been around since the 1960s. A trippy tapestry is the easiest way to bring the rave to you (and combat that inner voice that screams COVID-19 killed all the fun every time you check your Instagram feed).
Psychedelic tapestries transform any space for a small price. If you’re not sure where to start, Tumbler has some good stoner room DIY ideas. You can even make your own tapestry with this YouTube tutorial.
Tip: Don’t want to make your own? Trancentral online shop has a wide selection of hand-finished psychedelic tapestries to bring Goa to you.
3. Stoner room lights
If you’re looking for psychedelic, far-out lights, you don’t need to invest a lot for a chilled look. A quick search on eBay and Etsy reveals plenty of choices for under $30 USD. If you’re based in the US. We also have our own section of psychedelic lamps and ships to most countries worldwide.
Tip: We really dig this adorable mushroom lamp from Etsy, which will help you create your own psychedelic forest-themed fun room.
4. Hippy trippy psychedelic plants
Amazon is stocked with great titles to help you learn how grow your own psychedelic garden or forage in nature. We’re taking inspiration from Peru’s Arkana Spiritual Center and YouTuber, Dakotaofearth’s video tour. While it may not be possible to achieve a hippy trippy garden of this scale (especially if you live in a colder climate), you can start small with a tray or plastic container.
Tip: History geeks might want to check out Food of the Gods: The Search for the Original Tree of Knowledge, which details human evolution and psychedelics.
5. And finally, don't forget to accessorize your rave pets…
When all your favorite Goa and psychedelic trance festivals are canceled, it’s good to know you can still count on man’s best friend. We’re loving Etsy’s range of pet accessories, but we’re drawing the line at dyeing our pets psychedelic colors.
Tip: You can make your own “no sew” pet bandanas with spare fabric or this hippy trippy tie dye YouTube tutorial.
