The Flower of Life is a New Age name given to geometrical composition of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, where the center of each circle is on circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter. The hexagonal pattern is made up of 19 complete circles and 36 partial circular arcs, enclosed by a large circle.
The Flower of Life is believed to be the basic template for everything in existence and a type of Akashic Record of basic information of all living things. It symbolizes creation and the idea that everything is unified and built from the same blueprint. Various Sacred Geometry forms can be found within Flower of Life pattern, including Metatron’s Cube, Merkabah, Seed of Life, Tree of Life, Fruit of Life and 5 Platonic Solids which are said to depict 5 elements from which everything is composed - Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether aka Spirit/Chi/Qi/Space/Consciousness/Akash/Energy.
The oldest known drawing of the Flower of Life can be found at the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt, dating at least 6000 years old and possibly going back 10500 BC or earlier. Other examples of the geometry are spread throughout Indian, Asian, medieval, Middle Eastern, and Phoenician art.
According to some researchers, the Seed of Life, which is formed from seven circles being placed with sixfold symmetry, forming a pattern of circles and lenses, which acts as a basic component of the Flower of Life's design, is a symbol of depicting the seven days of creation in which God created Life.
Leonardo da Vinci studied mathematic properties of the Flower of Life’s form and its various components found within it, such as Seed of Life, etc.
According to Nassim Haramein, a founder of the Resonance Science Foundation, the Flower of Life ancient 2D symbol represents what is actually the 3D infinite geometric lattice structure of the vacuum of space-time, forming infinite scalar octaves of what Buckminster Fuller called the "vector equilibrium" in space.
